Case Studies

National Economic Consultative Forum (NECF) is a national convener of dialogue. They partner with business chambers, government ministries and research organisations to facilitate evidence based dialogue between government and the private sector on priority economic concerns.

AEDS is currently working with the Office of the President and Cabinet and National Economic Consultative Forum in the development of the second instalment of the Zimbabwe Investment Perception Survey (ZIPS). The ZIPS which is expected to be completed by end of November 2018 will inform the investment policy as well as highlight areas which requires urgent Government attention in order to improve the business environment.

AEDS working jointly with the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries and Buy Zimbabwe in undertaking sectoral studies on local content with a view of coming up with key policy incentives recommendations. Current studies are covering the food and beverages, seed manufacturing industries, tobacco and retail sector.

AEDS is working with the Chamber of Mines in the development of the mining sector study. The mining sector study is aimed at coming up with the microeconomics of competitiveness affecting the mining sector in Zimbabwe. The study which will be expected to showcase the growth impediments in the mining sector will help the Chamber of Mines in coming up with sub sector policy recommendations.
